The role involves representing secured creditors and managing litigated files, with occasional in-person hearings and partial remote work. You will coach staff, provide legal advice, conduct research, draft pleadings, and appear in various proceedings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in default servicing or related foreclosure work.
• Litigation experience preferred.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Strong knowledge of applicable laws and legal principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Illinois practice preferred (not required).
• Partial remote work available with timely, consistent performance.

Responsibilities

• Represent secured creditors, financial institutions, and mortgage servicers in all stages of the default process.
• Manage and maintain default files per firm compliance.
• Review and sign motions, notices, affidavits, and pleadings.
• Review and assemble documents for the default process.
• Research statutes, decisions, administrative law, and local rules.
• Attend hearings, mediations, trials, and settlement conferences.
• Handle client inquiries via case management systems, phone, and email.
• Utilize the firm’s case management system and report deadlines.
• Maximize billing opportunities while maintaining compliance in a high-volume caseload.
