Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a skilled Inventory and Store Spec IV at Big Spring State Hospital. This role manages perishable and non-perishable stock, coordinates deliveries, and maintains accurate inventory records to support meal production for the state hospital.

Under supervision, you will move and rotate stock, assist with training, and ensure compliance with safety and policy while supporting disaster response and continuity of operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Twenty-four (24) months experience in property accounting, retail sales, or inventory management.
• Must possess a valid Texas driver license or obtain it within 90 days.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and operate basic tools.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates food service stockroom operations for the state hospital and maintains inventory levels for frozen, canned/packaged, and fresh products.
• Receives deliveries, verifies invoices, and notes discrepancies or shortages.
• Assists with inventory training (OJT) and uses handheld devices for inventory tasks.
• Coordinates physical inventory, prepares reports, and reconciles records as required.
• Participates in disaster response/COOP or other agency emergencies when needed.
