State of Louisiana's Northeast LA Veterans Home in Monroe seeks a dedicated Food Service Specialist to plan, direct preparation of daily meals, estimate needs, and adjust recipes per production requirements. You will oversee baking and pastry production and ensure quality and safety in a high-volume kitchen.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to veteran care in a structured government environment, with premium pay and state employment benefits.

Competenze

• One year of food service experience in a food service operation.
• One year of training in food service management, or twelve semester hours in related subjects.

Mansioni

• Serve as an advanced-level cook.
• Estimate food needs and requisitions, receive and distribute food supplies to subordinates.
• Plan and direct the preparation of foods for immediate consumption and future use.
• Report unsafe conditions and defective equipment to supervisors.
• Oversee assistants in baking and pastry prep.
• Inspect bakery supplies for conformance to specifications and quality.
• Prepare and produce all baked items per menus.
• Calculate and adjust recipes to production requirements and weigh ingredients accurately.
