Job summary

UCSF Health in Oakland is seeking a Food Service Associate to join the Nutrition & Food Services team. You will help stock, assemble and serve meals, ensure accuracy and timeliness, and maintain sanitation across service areas. Interaction with customers, patients and staff is essential, and you may handle cash transactions.

Flexibility to work at multiple UCSF Medical Center locations and basic computer skills are required; English literacy is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of customer facing experience in food service, hospitality or retail.
• Read, write, follow written or oral instructions and be understood in English.
• Basic computer skills.
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
• Ability to meet physical demands involved with job duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide food service that is safe, accurate, timely and responsive to customers and patients.
• Stock, assemble and serve portion controlled hot and cold food.
• Replenish and stock stations.
• Perform general sanitation duties in foodservice areas and equipment.
• May handle cash, credit card and debit card transactions.
• Deliver outstanding customer, patient and staff interactions and act as ambassador for Nutrition and Food Services.
