Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced engineer to coordinate fluids and propulsion-related design work, drive nonconformance disposition, and support quality and manufacturing activities for aerospace hardware in the Lunar Permanence program.

You will collaborate with design, stress, and manufacturing teams to ensure safety, reliability, and mission success, applying design and analysis principles and to advancing spaceflight capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering required.
  • 5+ years in fluids and structural design, manufacturing or quality engineering for aerospace hardware.
  • Experience with metallic and/or composite parts and assemblies.
  • Familiarity with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and interpreting drawings/specifications.
  • Experience in MRB or similar nonconformance disposition processes.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • US citizen, permanent resident, or eligible for U.S. work status.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with manufacturing to assess nonconformances and implement repair or rework in real time.
  • Perform root cause analysis and determine disposition (use-as-is/repair/rework/scrap).
  • Develop repair designs with drawings and documentation to fix nonconformances.
  • Assess impact of deviations on fluids, strength, fatigue, and integrity.
  • Coordinate with design, stress, quality, and manufacturing to craft practical disposition solutions.
  • Support RCCA investigations to improve design and manufacturing processes.
  • Generate nonconformance docs, dispositions, and repair instructions in quality systems.
  • Work with manufacturing to clarify disposition intent and ensure correct shop-floor execution.
  • Support first-article inspections and production troubleshooting for fit, form, and function.
