Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a highly skilled thermal/fluids analyst to join the MK1 Fluids team within the Lunar Permanence unit. You will capture system inputs, develop and validate CFD models of cryogenic propellants, and run trade studies to inform design decisions for the MK1 Lunar Lander family.

The ideal candidate has 4–5 years of relevant experience in aerospace thermal/fluid analysis, strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics and heat transfer, and proficiency with CFD tools (ANSYS Fluent,

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 4-5 years of relevant thermal/fluids analysis experience.
• Experience using CFD tools such as ANSYS Fluent or FLOW3D.
• Deep understanding of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Collect analysis inputs from stakeholders and responsible engineers.
• Develop new or modify existing CFD thermo-fluid analysis models of cryogenic propellant to represent vehicle configuration and behavior.
• Generate and present design review and trade study content to subsystem, vehicle and business unit partners and customers.
• Maintain models demonstrating impact of engine interface conditions on vehicle subsystems.
• Post process analysis results to draw engineering conclusions from output data.
• Author and publish analysis reports in Windchill to support engineering decision making.
