Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced mechanical/aerospace engineer to lead on GS2 Fluids production support, owning MRB dispositions, triage of build issues, and cross-functional problem solving on the production floor.

You will coordinate with design teams, production, and supply chain to implement ECRs/ECOs, mentor junior staff, and ensure readiness for tests and flight hardware with emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
• 8+ years in production, manufacturing, test, or development of fluid systems.
• Hands-on shop floor experience with complex assemblies.
• Familiarity with pressure systems, leak tests, cleanliness for safety hardware.
• Experience with CAD and PLM tools and enterprise tracking (Jira, MES/MRP).
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs, and test procedures for production use.
• Proven ability to disposition nonconformances and lead corrective actions.
• Strong cross-functional communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between fluids design and production on plumbing, valves, feed systems, and pneumatics.
• Own MRB disposition for GS2 Fluids hardware.
• Lead triage and corrective actions for build issues and test anomalies.
• Support daily production operations and remove blockers while ensuring safety and quality.
• Coordinate Engineering Change Requests for GS2 Fluids components and routings.
• Analyze defects and test escapes to drive systemic improvements.
• Provide onsite engineering support during critical operations and tests.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain and suppliers on hardware deviations and test gaps.
• Contribute to design-for-manufacture and rate-readiness campaigns.
• Prepare content for readiness reviews and anomaly boards; maintain risk assessments.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians on build intent and inspection criteria.
