Job summary

Our client, an established law firm, is seeking an experienced, results-driven Litigation Attorney to join its plaintiff-side wage-and-hour practice. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and wage-and-hour litigation or a strong background in complex civil litigation with the ability to independently manage cases, conduct depositions, argue motions, and negotiate settlements.

This is not a training position.

Qualifications

• Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Substantial experience in FLSA or wage-and-hour litigation or complex civil litigation.
• Ability to independently manage cases, conduct depositions, and argue motions.

Responsibilities

• Manage FLSA collective actions and Rule 23 class actions from investigation through resolution.
• Develop litigation strategies and independently advance assigned cases.
• Conduct factual investigations and substantive client and witness interviews.
• Draft complaints, legal briefs, discovery requests, dispositive motions, and pretrial submissions.
• Take and defend depositions and argue motions before the court.
• Manage discovery, identify deficiencies, and pursue appropriate remedies.
• Analyze damages with support from experts and consultants.
• Prepare cases for mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial.
• Lead settlement discussions and negotiate favorable resolutions.
• Maintain timely, effective communication with clients.
• Contribute to thought leadership through legal articles, presentations, CLEs, and webinars.
• Manage multiple matters and deadlines while maintaining high standards of preparation, accountability, and client service.
