Job summary

Beam Therapeutics is seeking a hands-on flow cytometry scientist in Cambridge, MA to support internal and external research programs. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) with five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience, or a master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) with two years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience, in biology, immunology, or related field.
• Experience performing high-parameter flow cytometry analyses of hematopoietic stem and immune cell subsets.
• Design and execute flow-based assay development for preclinical or translational research.
• Quantitative flow cytometry data analysis using FlowJo or FCS Express.
• Troubleshooting instrument performance and coordinating maintenance; operating high-parameter flow cytometers and cell sorters.

Responsibilities

• Supporting all internal/external research programs.
• Execute specimen preparation, staining and sample acquisition of flow cytometric data.
• Perform cell sorting on BD FACS Melody, FACSAria Fusion or BD FACS Symphony S6.
• Design, plan, and execute assay development and/or platform development within the core flow cytometry group and cross-functionally.
• Perform flow data analyses and interpretation, and present data at group meetings.
