Job summary

Beam Therapeutics is seeking a hands-on Flow Cytometry Research Associate in Cambridge, MA. You will support multiple research programs, perform specimen prep, staining, and data acquisition on high-parameter flow cytometers, and lead instrument troubleshooting and training.

The role emphasizes assay development, cross-functional collaboration, and data analysis using FlowJo/FCS Express, with a strong focus on preclinical/translational work within a cutting-edge biotech setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-parameter flow cytometry analyses of hematopoietic stem and immune cell subsets.
• Designing and executing flow-based assay development for preclinical or translational research.
• Conducting quantitative flow cytometry data analysis using FlowJo or FCS Express.
• Troubleshooting instrument performance and coordinating maintenance.
• Operating and maintaining high-parameter flow cytometers and cell sorters.

Responsibilities

• Support all internal/external research programs.
• Execute specimen preparation, staining and sample acquisition of flow cytometric data.
• Perform cell sorting on BD FACS Melody, FACSAria Fusion or BD FACS Symphony S6.
• Design, plan, and execute assay development and/or platform development within the core flow cytometry group and cross-functionally.
• Perform flow data analyses and interpretation, and present data at group meetings.
• Maintain electronic notebook record of performed experiments.
• Provide basic training to researcher on various flow cytometers and cell sorters.
• Evaluate and troubleshoot instrument issues.
• Assist in coordinating core lab logistics (e.g. user scheduling, vendor/maintenance calls, etc.)
