Job summary

Genentech, part of the Roche group, seeks a highly experienced leader to head flow cytometry analytical development for cell therapy programs in South San Francisco. You will guide method development, tech transfer, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure analytical readiness across CMC and regulatory milestones.

The role requires a PhD with extensive relevant experience or a MS/BS with senior-level responsibilities, strong QbD knowledge, and hands-on cytometry expertise.

Qualifications

• PhD with 3+ years in biotech/pharma, preferably cell therapy.
• Experience supervising analytical development teams.
• Strong knowledge of QbD, cGMPs, ICH, and FDA.
• Hands-on with multicolor flow cytometry and cell-based assays.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for flow cytometry method development.
• Represent analytical development in CMC and program meetings.
• Oversee technology transfer to GMP QC and external partners.
• Collaborate across functions to support method development and product characterization.
• Mentor and train teams on flow cytometry methods.
• Stay updated on industry trends and analytical platforms.
• Draft reports, SOPs, and test protocols.
• Guide the team to meet key program milestones.
