Job summary

Pilot Assessments in Seattle, WA is seeking a seasoned Flight Test Engineer to plan and conduct ground, flight, and maintenance test flights for experimental and transport aircraft. You will evaluate performance, document findings, and contribute to flight manuals and reports.

The role requires military flight test experience and eligibility for US security clearance. BS in engineering or related field, FAA ATP with endorsements, and export control compliance are required; relocation/travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
• Military flight test school graduate.
• Operational background in transport-category airplanes.
• Commercial Certificate or FAA ATP with endorsements; Class II medical.
• Ability to obtain US security clearance; active Secret preferred.
• Must meet US export control requirements (US Person per 22 CFR 120.62).

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct ground, flight, and maintenance test flights for various aircraft.
• Support certification activities across certified and military configurations.
• Evaluate flight data, document findings, and recommend actions.
• Contribute to technical reports, flight manuals, and flight reports.
• Provide design input and recommend changes from test insights.
• Participate in customer demonstrations and evaluations.
• Champion safety, compliance, and disciplined test conduct.
