Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a flight test engineering leader to perform integration, verification, and field qualification testing across multiple programs. You will lead a team of up to 10 flight test engineers, perform data collection and analysis, and work with specialists to design test events. Onsite role with 25% travel, requiring security clearance and U.S.

citizenship. Typically requires a STEM bachelor's and 5+ years of relevant experience, with FAA flight clearance and hardware

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelors in a STEM discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics or Math with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Active or ability to obtain and maintain up to class III FAA flight clearance.
• Experience with van and tower testing and hardware systems integration including design and build of sensor pods and aircraft test racks.
• Platform integration experience in fixed wing or rotary configurations and verification/validation methods.
• Experience coordinating multiple team members schedules and working with customers/subcontractors for off-site flight tests.

Responsibilities

• Perform integration, verification, and field qualification testing per specifications; includes lab, van, tower, and flight testing.
• Lead a team of up to 10 flight test engineers across multiple programs.
• Collect and analyze data; provide detailed reports of results.
• Work with specialists to design test events and ensure traceability of faults.
• Create/modify documentation for Test Plans, TRR, CTS, and TDR packages.
