Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area seeks a Senior Flight Test Engineer to provide technical leadership in planning and executing complex ground and flight tests from the hangar in New Century, KS.

You will draft test plans, analyze data in real time, mentor junior engineers, collaborate with certification authorities, and drive safe, repeatable test procedures across multiple aircraft programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher as a general rule.
  • Proficient with advanced engineering and flight test tools for avionics installations.
  • Strong understanding of certification processes and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drafts ground and flight test plans and reports for complex test programs.
  • Coordinates and executes complex flight tests as part of a flight test crew.
  • Defines, documents, and maintains test aircraft and equipment configurations with engineering teams.
  • Operates flight test tools, analyzes data in real time, and makes parameter adjustments.
  • Mentors less experienced flight test engineers (Flight Test Engineer 1 & 2).
  • Collaborates with certification authorities to resolve issues.
  • Revises or authors new procedures and contributes to safety.
  • Provides reliable solutions to difficult problems using sound problem solving techniques.
