Job summary

Garmin Ltd. in the United States is seeking a full-time Flight Test Pilot 4 at its U.S. headquarters in the Kansas City area. The role centers on serving as Pilot in Command for difficult tests and leading flight test projects with complex certification challenges.

You will develop test strategies, author certification plans, and collaborate with engineering teams and certification authorities while mentoring junior pilots.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus extensive flight test experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Minimum 2,000 hours total flight time.
• Commercial Pilot Certificate and Flight Test DER or ODA Unit Member Qualification.
• 2nd Class FAA Medical Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Acts as Pilot in Command for experimental aircraft with high-risk tests.
• Leads flight test projects and develops strategies for complex programs.
• Proposes new designs to meet operational needs.
• Maintains test aircraft configurations and coordinates with engineering teams.
• Serves as an expert in test aircraft operations for project teams.
• Drives issue resolution during flight tests for large, complex projects.
• Authours certification plans for large projects with certification issues.
• Mentors less experienced flight test pilots and collaborates with authorities.
