Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal Flight Test Engineer for the Mojave, CA area to support our Flight Operations Center of Technical Excellence for Test and Evaluation. The role emphasizes first-time quality, engineering rigor, and Test Like You Fly methodology on the Gulfstream IV Flight Test Bed Aircraft.

Responsibilities include mechanical design engineering, test planning, system-level test coordination, and integrated hardware/software verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) degree required; 9+ years related experience, or Master’s with 7+ years.
• Experience with engineering design software such as NX, CATIA, CAD, etc.
• Active U.S. Government Secret or higher clearance (or ability to obtain) within a reasonable time.

Responsibilities

• Qualify as aircrew member and fly onboard as Flight Test Engineer; ensure test conduct and safety.
• Develop and publish Integrated Test Plans, test schedules, and procedures for developmental testing.
• Interface with design and analysis teams to define test configuration and data requirements.
• Coordinate test readiness reviews and post-test briefings; analyze data to support anomaly resolution.
