Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Principal Software Integration and Test Engineer to lead flight software upgrades and satellite software development. The role emphasizes hands-on C/C++ work, real-time systems, and rigorous testing across unit to platform levels.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, support hardware-in-the-loop environments, and contribute to modeling and simulation tools. US citizenship and security clearance are desirable for this federal-contractor position.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in STEM or related field; master's preferred.
15+ years with a Bachelor's or 12+ years with a Master's in space/flight software.
Demonstrated experience with space hardware and flight software lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Upgrade flight software for new missions.
Develop satellite flight software for US platforms.
Create in-house tools to analyze flight software performance.
Develop and execute unit, module, subsystem, and platform tests.
Support hardware-in-the-loop test environments and flight hardware.
Participate in anomaly resolution and patching.
Contribute to system- and mission-level modeling and simulation tools.
Develop software models of payloads for ground testing.
Support software model of satellite platform including flight software representation.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and vendors.
