Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Flight Software Engineer to own satellite flight software and SIT/L testing across development stages. You will design, implement, test, and validate software for attitude, command and data handling, navigation, thermal and power systems.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years in spacecraft software, strong C/C++, Python, and embedded skills, plus experience with space missions from concept to flight. You will lead and mentor engineers in a startup-like environment.

Qualifications

BS/MS/PhD in Software or Computer Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of spacecraft software development.
Experience with C, C++, Python in aerospace.
Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting.
Understanding of space mission design and operations.
Experience with software release and configuration management.
Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Design and implement software for mission systems including satellites, ground stations, and mission operations centers.
Design, develop, code, test, debug, and document system software.
Review code and system designs.
Analyze code for efficiency, stability, and scalability.
Integrate and validate new product designs.
Provide post-production/in-orbit customer support.
Interface with hardware design and development engineers.
Assess third party and open-source software.
