Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Software Project Engineer to join our software team. You will plan and manage execution for firmware and software in high-reliability aerospace systems, collaborating with engineers, program managers, customers, and stakeholders.

The role requires 5+ years of embedded software and software project management experience, plus knowledge of Agile and V-model methodologies and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience, including 1 year embedded software and 3 years software project management.
• Excellent communication, tailored to audience.
• Familiarity with board-level hardware design in software development.
• Experience with Agile and V-model lifecycle approaches.
• Experience managing firmware development.

Responsibilities

• Create software development plans subject to cost and schedule constraints.
• Lead planning meetings, retrospectives, and daily standups.
• Communicate project status to stakeholders.
• Represent the software team to programmatic stakeholders.
• Maintain software issue tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
• Prioritize feature development based on stakeholder inputs.
• Interface with customers and vendors.
• Ensure software development lifecycle execution.
• Continuously improve software project execution processes.
