Job summary

Pafford EMS is seeking an experienced automotive fleet mechanic lead to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel and gasoline vehicles. You will assist the Mechanic Director with daily priorities, mentor mechanics, and ensure work complies with safety and company standards.

You will inspect vehicles, respond to breakdowns, maintain documentation, and help implement fleet maintenance programs while upholding a professional standard and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Four+ years of verifiable experience as automotive, diesel, or fleet mechanic.
• Experience with emergency vehicles, ambulances, or commercial fleet maintenance preferred.
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair, diagnostics, electrical systems, HVAC, braking, and drivetrain components.
• Must have a current and valid driver’s license and a complete set of personal tools.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing needs.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, mechanical and electrical repairs on diesel and gasoline vehicles.
• Assist the Mechanic Director with daily shop priorities and workflow coordination.
• Provide technical guidance and training to mechanics on repairs and maintenance procedures.
• Review completed repairs for safety, accuracy, and standards compliance.
• Complete all required repair and maintenance documentation accurately and timely.
