Ruppert Landscape is seeking a Senior Fleet Mechanic / Shop Manager to lead our in-house fleet maintenance in Richmond, VA. You will supervise shop operations, prioritize repairs, and ensure safety and reliability across diesel and gas vehicles, trailers, and equipment.

The role combines hands-on mechanical work with shop leadership, inventory control, and coordination with district teams to minimize downtime and uphold Ruppert's standards.

Qualificações

• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience as a mechanic, preferably with fleet/truck equipment.
• Experience leading or managing a shop, crew, or maintenance operation is strongly preferred.
• Ability to remain hands-on with repairs while managing shop responsibilities.
• Diesel experience is preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish ability is a plus but not required.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment.
• Serve as a hands-on leader in the shop, balancing repairs with shop management responsibilities.
• Prioritize and coordinate repairs with branch personnel to minimize downtime.
• Lead seasonal vehicle and equipment reconditioning programs to meet safety and image standards.
• Maintain accurate service, repair, inspection, and mileage records.
• Manage parts, inventory, tools, and shop supplies.
• Assist with shop purchasing, vendor relationships, and expense tracking.
