Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking an experienced Mechanic A in Longview, TX. The role leads fleet maintenance, performs preventative and corrective work, and mentors junior mechanics to uphold branch, regional, and national standards.

You will diagnose engines, electrical, hydraulics, and fuel systems, perform major repairs, and maintain thorough repair logs while prioritizing safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years of experience repairing heavy equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
• Owns a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on Herc-owned fleet at the branch.
• Operate and test equipment to meet quality standards.
• Diagnose engines, electrical, hydraulics, and fuel systems and perform repairs.
• Enter and review work orders; order parts via fleet system.
• Mentor B and C level mechanics and assist shop lead.
