Job summary

Loomis- is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to manage operations and maintenance of the branch's fleet. The role reports to the Branch Manager and requires skilled hands to service, repair, and test vehicles of all sizes.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and parts coordination to keep fleet on the road, with a blended environment spanning indoor work and outdoor conditions. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position based on the Canton Charter Township area.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand technical service manuals, repair orders, labels, and gauges (in English).
• Ability to write work orders and purchase orders.
• Ability to communicate verbally (in English) using telephone for ordering parts and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair of all fleet vehicles.
• Perform preventive maintenance (lube, oil change, replace belts, hoses, inspect brakes, repack bearings, check tires, on all size vehicles. Must perform per month).
• Diagnose and effectively repair mechanical, engine and electrical irregularities/malfunctions on all size vehicles.
• Drive automatic and standard shift vehicles for testing, transfer, and pick-up/delivery of parts.
• Perform inventory and order parts, supplies, as needed.
