Job summary

The State of Oklahoma seeks a Fleet Specialist V to lead maintenance operations within the Consolidated Vehicle Fleet. The role focuses on managing a fleet maintenance program, overseeing repairs, and ensuring safe, reliable vehicle operation for state agencies.

Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, supervising staff, coordinating parts and service, and planning budgets and schedules to meet departmental needs.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of technical principles and use of diagnostic equipment for vehicle repair.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and organize projects; analyze fleet data.

Responsibilities

  • Perform major and minor preventive maintenance on state vehicles and equipment; diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic problems; operate diagnostic tools and computer software.
  • Maintain clean, safe work environment and inspect equipment for safety and proper working order.
  • Complete paperwork, assist in writing specifications, and maintain inventory of parts.
  • Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical personnel; provide roadside assistance as needed.
  • Supervise a repair facility and train staff; plan, direct and coordinate repair operations.
  • Manage budgets and equipment purchases; plan schedules and ensure availability of equipment.
