Job summary

Oklahoma Department of Corrections seeks a Fleet Specialist V to lead and perform maintenance for state vehicles and equipment within the Consolidated Vehicle Fleet. You will diagnose issues, supervise work, and ensure safety and readiness of the fleet.

You must have six years of experience in automobile or heavy equipment maintenance or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a valid Oklahoma driver's license is required, with CDL depending on position; drug tests apply.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in automobile or heavy equipment maintenance.
• Equivalency: one year education/training as Automotive/Diesel Mechanic.
• Possession of a valid Oklahoma driver’s license; CDL may be required.
• Able to pass a drug test prior to appointment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on state vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Plan budgets and maintain inventory of parts.
• Explain technical diagnoses to non-mechanical personnel.
• Supervise a repair facility and train staff.
