Job summary

United States Postal Service seeks a Lead Automotive Technician for the Dulles VA VMF facility in Sterling, VA. The role leads lower level technicians, performs complex repairs on all types of postal fleet vehicles, and requires a valid driver’s license with a safe driving history.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Two years of unsupervised driving experience required, in the U.S. or its possessions/territories or U.S. military installations.
• This is a non-exempt, lead technician role within USPS vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses operating difficulties on a variety of vehicles and performs checks on engines and major subsystems.
• Conducts road tests before and after maintenance and updates work orders.
• Provides guidance and direction to lower level technicians and mechanics.
