Job summary

United States Postal Service, Virginia District, is seeking a Lead Automotive Technician at the Dulles VA VMF facility. This senior role leads a vehicle maintenance team, diagnoses complex vehicle issues, and oversees repairs and preventive maintenance for the postal fleet.

The position requires a state driver’s license, a clean driving record, and successful completion of background checks. Starting annual salary is $75,836 with a comprehensive benefits package and a bi-weekly payroll.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Must be able to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses operating difficulties on a variety of vehicles and performs operational checks on engines and major subsystems.
• Conducts road tests before and after maintenance and repairs; annotates vehicle problems on work orders.
• Maintains, prepares and updates vehicle maintenance records and labor hours.
• Provides technical guidance to mechanics on difficult repairs and the use of diagnostic equipment.
