Job summary

BMW Group in Woodcliff Lake, NJ, is seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage fixed asset ledger and lease accounting, ensuring accurate depreciation, acquisitions, and disposals. You will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, and contribute to the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for US subsidiaries in line with IFRS and eGAAP.

The role requires 5–7 years of direct accounting experience, strong SAP FI/Fixed Asset skills, and solid IFRS knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 5–7 years of direct accounting experience.
• Fixed asset depreciation, acquisitions, transfers and disposals.
• Experience with SAP FI and Fixed Asset systems.
• Knowledge of IFRS/GAAP is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage fixed asset ledger and lease accounting: classification, valuation, depreciation, acquisitions, transfers, disposals, impairments.
• Prepare and post journal entries; reconcile accounts under GL incl. cost of retail, overheads, intercompany, cash management.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for BMW Group subsidiaries per IFRS and eGAAP.
• Analyze balance sheet and P&L trends to identify key insights at cost center and WBS levels.
• Maintain and improve accounting policies, controls, and reporting compliance related to asset & lease accounting.
• Collaborate with local/group controlling, tax, facilities, management for reporting, audits and planned transactions.
• Lead operational accounting projects and regulatory filings as required.
