Micron Technology is seeking a Sr. Engineer (E3) for the Firmware & Product Testing (FPT) team to validate enterprise SSD firmware.

You will develop automated tests, execute verification plans, and perform failure analysis focused on NVMe front-end features while leveraging Python-based automation and AI-assisted workflows. The role requires collaboration with firmware engineers, data scientists, and AI/ML practitioners to create scalable testing solutions and enhance product quality across NVMe

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/EE/related with 3+ years (or equivalent)
• Strong Python programming for automation, scripting, and data analysis (NumPy, pandas)
• Solid understanding of software testing fundamentals, automation, and validation methods
• Analytical problem-solving skills to interpret data-driven results
• Interest or experience in AI, LLMs, or AI-assisted software development workflows

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute firmware verification plans for enterprise SSD and NVMe front-end features.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated test solutions using Python and FPT frameworks.
• Apply white/grey/black-box testing to validate firmware functionality and robustness.
• Investigate failures, perform root cause analysis, document findings with cross-functional teams.
• Communicate validation results, quality metrics, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement to enhance automation quality.
• Leverage Generative AI and AI-assisted tools to accelerate test creation and reporting.
• Collaborate with firmware engineers, data scientists, and AI/ML for smart automation solutions
