Job summary

Sanmina Corporation, a global EMS leader, seeks a Sr. Firmware Development Engineer for the Viking Enterprise Solutions group in Colorado Springs. You will drive firmware design and development for BMC/SES in storage/server products, ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

You will collaborate with hardware and software teams and engage with external partners to resolve issues. The role requires hands-on firmware work, strong design documentation, and experience with BIOS/BMC firmware and

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical engineering or computer science.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands on experience in product design, firmware development in a medium or large global organization.
• Excellent working knowledge of embedded system design.
• Preferred working knowledge and hands on experience on BIOS/BMC firmware development.
• Excellent working knowledge of various OS (Linux, Windows, Unix, etc.)
• Experienced in Server/Storage system architecture.
• Preferred experience in testing of BMC, BIOS and SES firmware for storage/server applications.
• Good system Hardware/Software integration skills.
• Preferred knowledge of SES, BMC, BIOS testing requirement.
• Good communication skills to interact with external customer and engineering team.
• Proficient with AMI BIOS customization.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Storage/Server HW design and firmware architects to provide input on firmware design requirements.
• Prepare high and low level design documents with firmware architects.
• Provide sizing and schedule input for tasks within the project.
• Drive firmware development from design to bug resolution to GA release.
• Participate in firmware code development and code reviews.
• Provide weekly status updates to program management on development status.
• Provide field support to debug and resolve problems at customer sites.
