Job summary
Viking Enterprise Solutions, part of the Sanmina family, seeks a Sr Firmware Development Engineer in Colorado Springs to drive firmware design and development for data storage products. You will interface with HW/firmware teams, define requirements, and push projects from design through validation to GA.
The ideal candidate has 2+ years of firmware experience in embedded systems, BIOS/BMC familiarity, and strong OS knowledge (Linux/Windows/Unix).
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science required.
- Minimum 2 years hands-on firmware development experience in a large organization.
- Strong embedded system design knowledge.
- Experience with BIOS/BMC firmware development is preferred.
- Familiarity with Linux, Windows, and Unix environments.
- Experience in server/storage system architecture and firmware testing.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve system-level issues.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with HW/firmware teams to define firmware requirements.
- Create high- and low-level design documents for firmware.
- Plan tasks with project teams including sizing and scheduling.
- Drive firmware development from design to integration and bug resolution to GA.
- Participate in code development and code reviews.
- Provide weekly status updates to management.
- Support field engineers to debug issues at customer sites.
