Job summary

Sanmina’s Viking Enterprise Solutions unit in Colorado Springs seeks a Sr. Firmware Development Engineer to contribute to firmware design and development for BMC/SES storage/server products. This role reports to the Firmware Engineering Manager and involves driving design, coding, and testing activities.

You will collaborate with HW/FW teams, participate in design documentation, unit testing, and field support, ensuring on-time delivery with quality results.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical engineering or computer science.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on firmware development experience in a large/global org.
• Strong embedded systems design knowledge.
• Experience with BIOS/BMC firmware development preferred.
• Familiarity with Linux/Windows/Unix environments.
• Experience with server/storage system architecture.
• Experience testing BMC, BIOS and SES firmware for storage/server apps.
• Good communication with external customers and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive firmware development from design to unit testing and HW/FW integration to GA.
• Participate in firmware code development and code reviews.
• Create firmware design documents and drive the engineering process.
• Provide weekly status updates to management.
• Support field engineers to debug problems at customer sites.
