Job summary

Anduril Industries in Irvine is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in firmware to join the Sentry Tower team. You will develop and maintain firmware for sensor boards, motor controllers, and power hardware, building on existing baselayers and ensuring high reliability in outdoor environments.

Collaborate with hardware and tower software teams, harden firmware security with authenticated updates, own the update path, and work from power-on to production-ready boards with a strong emphasis

Qualifications

• 4+ years of firmware development experience using C.
• Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures (ARM, RISC-V).
• Proficiency with low-level networking protocols (TCP/IP, CAN, SPI, I2C).
• Experience with RTOS and bare-metal programming.
• Familiarity with debugging tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Solid understanding of computer architecture and memory management.
• US person status required, with eligibility to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and extend firmware on sensor boards, motor controllers, and power hardware.
• Build on top of existing firmware baselayer without regressing current towers.
• Harden firmware security: authenticated updates and protected interfaces.
• Own the firmware update path, safe for field units.
• Collaborate with tower software on the firmware/service boundary.
• Work with hardware engineers on board bring-up and debugging from power-on to production-ready boards.
