Job summary

Anduril Industries in Irvine, CA is seeking a Software Engineer for the Sentry Tower product team to build and maintain software for robotic systems, integrating sensors and actuators, and enabling autonomous planning alongside human operators.

You will own feature development, design scalable architectures, and ensure secure data transmission while collaborating with internal teams and field personnel. A strong background in CS/engineering and hands-on experience with build systems is required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency navigating the robotics system stack (sensors, compute, actuation) or deep expertise in low-level software/hardware interfacing.
• 4+ years working with Rust or C++.
• Solid grasp of networking, CAN and Ethernet, plus hardware interfacing, diagnostic tools, and cybersecurity for sensor data transmission.
• Experience designing software for high-volume data processing and advanced sensor data analysis.
• Background in CS/Software Engineering/Math/Physics.
• Experience with modern build systems (Nix, CMake) and setting up CI/CD pipelines.
• US person status with eligibility for a US security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own feature development and roll out for our products, including SITL/HITL, sensor integration, and API creation for robotic actuators.
• Design and evaluate software supporting operation by humans and autonomous agents.
• Own service reliability, communicate effectively, and align with customer objectives.
• Submit well-documented, tested PRs and negotiate system design trade-offs.
• Architect and scale real-time communication and middleware systems.
