Job summary

Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking Firmware Engineers to join our defense technology team. You will develop low-level firmware for microcontrollers, create reusable device drivers, and integrate system level features across hardware and software boundaries.

You'll collaborate closely with Electrical Engineering to address challenges on land, sea, and air platforms, participate in codebase evolution, and deliver robust firmware in bare-metal or RTOS environments.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing or have recently completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities; U.S. clearance eligibility may be required depending on program.
• Able to start full time in 2027.

Responsibilities

• Develop low-level firmware/software for microcontrollers
• Create reusable device drivers and integrate system-level features
• Architect changes to support an ever-growing codebase
• Quickly debug and troubleshoot issues that span the electrical, firmware, and software boundaries
• Collaborate and review schematics with the electrical engineering team

Skills

Experience coding in C for embedded

Microcontrollers with analog & digital

Firmware in bare-metal/RTOS

Coding best practices & debugging

Bus protocols (USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS-

MC cores (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC)

Debugging with JTAG/SWD/oscilloscopes/

Bias for action & ownership
