Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Colorado is seeking a senior firmware architect to define the Common Services firmware architecture across SSD products.

You will guide long‑term strategy, mentor engineers, and collaborate with hardware, silicon, software, and product teams. This role drives architectural decisions, improves performance, scalability, and reliability, and leads adoption of AI‑assisted development practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years embedded firmware development with architectural ownership and technical leadership in storage/semiconductor.
• 3+ years SSD industry experience with Common Services firmware, ARC processors, compilers, and build environments.
• Expert-level proficiency in C and/or Rust; deep knowledge of PCIe/NVMe storage architectures.
• Experience across hardware, silicon, system software, and product teams to deliver complex solutions.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve Common Services firmware architecture and technical strategy across SSD products.
• Lead embedded firmware design, establish engineering standards, and drive architectural decisions.
• Partner with hardware, silicon, software, and product teams to solve system-level challenges and optimize storage stack.
• Communicate architecture plans, risks, and recommendations to engineering and business partners.
• Mentor senior engineers and lead AI-assisted development adoption.
