Job summary

Micron Technology is seeking a Firmware Engineer to design and develop controller firmware for memory systems and SSDs. You will work with cross-functional teams to investigate issues, improve performance, and bring new technologies to market.

The role focuses on embedded firmware in C, RTOS concepts, and low-level architectures, with opportunities to apply AI-assisted tools for analysis and root cause investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 8+ years of industry experience.
• Experience developing embedded firmware using C for resource-constrained systems.
• Experience debugging firmware in hardware–software environments.
• Knowledge of RTOS, memory management, compilers, and low-level system architectures.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, debug, and enhance firmware for memory controllers and SSD solutions
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve firmware, hardware, and system-level issues
• Perform bench testing, failure analysis, and root cause investigations using AI-assisted tools where appropriate
• Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to isolate issues and drive product improvements
• Create and maintain firmware design documentation and technical specifications
