Job summary

AT&T seeks a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer (Firewall Policy Implementation) to lead hands-on firewall policy operations for enterprise-scale security. You will operate, maintain, and optimize firewall platforms, driving policy quality in a global environment and applying AI-assisted methods to improve efficiency.

This on-site role requires five days per week in Charlotte, NC, with consideration for Dallas, TX for exceptional matches; strong PAN-OS/Panorama experience and automation skills are

Qualifications

• 7+ years operating and maintaining Firewall Policies.
• Extensive hands-on experience managing enterprise Firewall Policy in production.
• Strong operational discipline: change control validation, rollback planning, and post-change verification.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot Network/Security and Firewall Policy issues under time pressure.
• Experience working in large-scale, complex environments with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Security implementation and management of firewall rules.
• Firewall Policy lifecycle management: tuning, insertions, removals, and decommissions.
• Execute Configuration Change Management with validation and post-change verification.
• Troubleshoot Connectivity and Security Policy issues and outages with cross-functional teams.
• Identify and drive Automation and AIOps opportunities using Copilot, ChatGPT, GitHub, and other tools.
• Support security rollouts and collaborate with IT, network, and business units.
