Job summary

AT&T is seeking a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer (Firewall Policy Implementation) to join its cybersecurity team in Charlotte, NC. This is a hands-on, highly technical role focused on firewall policy operations at enterprise scale.

You will own firewall policy lifecycle, implement rules, troubleshoot issues, and drive automation and AI-enabled improvements. On-site presence is required five days a week in Charlotte, with potential consideration for other hubs for exceptional candidates.

Qualifications

• 7+ years operating and maintaining Firewall Policies (Rule Sets).
• Extensive hands-on experience managing enterprise Firewall Policy in production environments.
• Strong change control validation, rollback planning, and post-change verification.

Responsibilities

• Optimize and implement firewall rules to mitigate risk and harden defenses.
• Own day-to-day firewall policy operations, tuning, cleanup, and hardware decommissions.
• Safely apply approved firewall policy changes within defined change processes with verification.
