Job summary

Evertec is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to lead firewall administration, policy design, and network security across on-prem and cloud environments in the Puerto Rico region.

You will monitor threats, review logs, and implement NGFW/IDS/IPS/EDR while collaborating with infrastructure and cloud teams. The role requires a Bachelor’s in CS/CE, 5+ years’ experience, and bilingual English/Spanish.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity and firewall administration.
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point or Cisco Firepower.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, NAT, and Zero Trust architectures.
• Experience in hybrid on-premises and cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
• Certs such as PCNSA/PCNSE, NSE4+, CCNP Security preferred.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Lead administration, configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting of enterprise firewall platforms.
• Design, implement, and maintain security policies, access control, VPNs, and network segmentation.
• Monitor network perimeter for cybersecurity threats and unauthorized access.
• Analyze firewall logs, traffic, and events to identify risks and threats.
• Implement NGFW, IDS/IPS, EDR/ATP, and security controls.
• Conduct rule reviews, security assessments, and audits for compliance.
• Investigate security incidents and support root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with infra, cloud, and app teams for secure connectivity.
• Develop and maintain technical docs, standards, runbooks, and procedures.
