Job summary

M.C. Dean seeks a Fire Sprinkler Service Technician to inspect, test, and repair fire sprinkler systems at customer sites across the region. You will diagnose deficiencies, document results, and recommend compliant fixes while upholding NFPA standards and company procedures.

Field-based work requires a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, travel, ladders, and on-call rotations. Strong communication and safety discipline are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (required) with 5 years of relevant experience or 2-year tech degree with 4 years of experience.
• Experience as a fire sprinkler service technician or equivalent role.
• Knowledge of NFPA 13 and NFPA 25 standards.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire sprinkler systems.
• Service system components including sprinklers, valves, piping, standpipes and related devices.
• Conduct evaluations and site surveys to assess condition and compliance.
• Identify deficiencies and provide code-compliant repair recommendations.
• Coordinate with service coordinators and customers to ensure timely service.
• Document inspections, test results, deficiencies, and repairs accurately.
• Communicate system status and recommendations professionally to customers.
• Support and train junior technicians and apprentices on the job.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, manufacturer requirements, and company procedures.
• Respond to service calls, including urgent situations, as required.
• Work under pressure while managing multiple calls and priorities.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in safe condition.
• Follow all safety policies and promote safe work practices.
