Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Sprinkler Service Technician II to inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire sprinkler systems at customer sites.

The role requires independent work on service calls, strong technical skills, and the ability to document findings and provide code-compliant upgrades. Applicants must have a high level of self-organization, comfort with fast-paced environments, and meet background and access requirements, including potential Top-Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (required) with 5 years of relevant experience Or 2 years technology degree and 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience as a fire sprinkler service technician or equivalent role.
• Experience performing inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards (NFPA 13 and NFPA 25).
• Valid driver's license; may require company vehicle usage.
• Ability to pass background checks and meet site access requirements.
• Background check including client-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fire sprinkler systems.
• Service system components including sprinklers, valves, piping, standpipes, and related devices.
• Conduct system evaluations and site surveys to assess system condition and compliance.
• Identify deficiencies and provide clear, code-compliant repair and upgrade recommendations.
• Coordinate with service coordinators and customers to ensure timely service delivery.
• Accurately document inspections, test results, deficiencies, and repairs.
• Communicate system status, findings, and recommendations professionally to customers.
• Support and train junior technicians and apprentices through on-the-job guidance.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, manufacturer requirements, and company procedures.
• Respond to service calls, including urgent and emergency situations, as required.
• Work effectively under pressure while managing multiple service calls and priorities.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in safe and working condition.
• Follow all company safety policies and promote safe work practices.
