Job summary

American Fire Protection Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced fire sprinkler leader to drive daily operations and grow our Southern California residential and commercial design-build business.

This hands-on role combines estimating, project management, team leadership, and field coordination. You’ll own projects from site survey through installation, testing, inspection, and closeout, coordinating with designers, customers, and field crews while safeguarding profitability and quality.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in fire sprinkler with project leadership.
• Strong estimating and PM skills with field knowledge.
• Knowledge of NFPA 13/13R/13D; familiarity with SoCal permits.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with residential and commercial sprinkler systems incl. CPVC/steel.
• Able to manage multiple projects and meet commitments.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations, coordinating office staff, designers, field crews, and subcontractors.
• Prepare estimates, takeoffs, proposals, and project budgets for new construction, tenant improvements, system modifications, and repairs.
• Manage projects from initial site survey and bidding through installation, testing, final inspection, and closeout.
• Coordinate with designers to keep plans, submittals, approvals, and field work on schedule.
• Schedule crews, order materials, coordinate deliveries, and resolve field issues.
• Communicate with owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, and other trades.
• Monitor labor productivity, material costs, change orders, schedules, and project profitability.
• Oversee inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair work.
• Train and support employees, reinforce safe work practices, and maintain quality standards.
• Improve systems for estimating, scheduling, job costing, documentation, and accountability.
• Maintain client relationships and identify opportunities for repeat business.
