Job summary

Aims Community College is seeking a dynamic leader to manage its Fire Science degree and certificate programs, including CPAT oversight, equipment management, and accreditation processes. You will coordinate exams, supervise instructors, and drive program excellence across the Fire Science department.

The role emphasizes faculty recruitment, performance evaluation, risk management, and collaboration with external agencies to align training with state standards and IAFF licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Fire Science or another related field and four years of related work experience, including supervisory/leadership experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to form external partnerships and manage relationships.
• Must be able to drive a company vehicle and pass an MVR; excellent organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of degree, certificate, and CPAT programs.
• Supervise FT/PT lead instructors and assistant instructors; ensure appropriate teaching ratios per industry standards.
• Coordinate state certification exams and manage equipment, inventory, and drill ground activities.
• Recruit and market for the department; interview and hire staff for degree/certificate programs.
• Provide training and evaluation of faculty; handle employee and student grievances.
• Ensure program accreditation standards are maintained (IFSAC) and schedule certifications.
