Job summary

Gigantes Group is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead remote projects within the United States. You will design fire protection systems, perform hydraulic calculations, and provide code consulting across NFPA/IBC standards.

You will manage client relationships, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with MEP and structural teams to deliver high-profile projects on a remote basis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in fire protection engineering, including design, code consulting, and project management.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Deep knowledge of NFPA, IBC codes and performance-based design experience.
• Proficiency with hydraulic calculation software, AutoCAD and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, layout, and specification of fire protection systems including suppression, alarm, detection, and smoke control.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, assess fire risks, and develop fire protection strategies tailored to client needs.
• Provide performance-based design and engineering analysis for unique project requirements.
• Interface with local authorities and regulatory agencies to secure approvals and resolve code-related issues.
• Manage multiple fire protection projects, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and client satisfaction.
• Act as the primary client contact, communicating objectives, timelines and budgets clearly.
• Conduct site assessments and inspections to verify installations and compliance.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and staff.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to integrate fire protection into building designs.
• Participate in project review meetings contributing insights on design best practices.
