Job summary

Jensen Hughes Inc. is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead multi-office fire protection design and code consultation efforts in a hybrid work model across the U.S. South region.

The role focuses on building and fire code compliance, performance-based design, and client-driven solutions. The successful candidate will coordinate with design teams and authorities having jurisdiction, support business development, and deliver technically sound fire protection strategies for challenging

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Fire Protection preferred).
• Registered Professional Engineer or equivalent preferred.
• Strong analytical and creative thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and interact with professionals, trades, and authorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and implement diverse fire protection design and consulting projects.
• Meet client needs by delivering tasks on schedule and within budget.
• Coordinate building and fire code reviews and site visits.
• Prepare and peer-review technical reports.
• Develop fire protection strategies and performance-based designs.
• Lead design teams with clients.
• Assist with business development.
• Apply fire safety engineering to non-standard design challenges.
• Evaluate facilities for code compliance and provide improvements.
• Perform egress sizing, hydraulic calculations, and smoke control evaluations.
• Write technical letters addressing concepts.
