Jensen Hughes seeks a Lead / Senior Fire Protection Engineer/Consultant to provide fire protection consulting on client sites across Austin, TX, Allen, TX, Houston, TX and Denver, CO. You will lead engineers and specialty consultants on diverse projects.

The role involves life safety code consulting, fire protection design, alarm/mass notification, smoke control, and field investigations, with frequent collaboration among owners, developers, architects and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or higher in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in fire protection engineering.
• Professional Engineer license in Texas preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide fire protection engineering services including life safety code consulting and design.
• Develop plans, specifications and inspection reports to professional standards.
• Perform field investigations and detailed design reviews.
• Identify applicable codes and standards for inquiries.
• Conduct code analyses, egress analyses, smoke control and sprinkler reviews.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and project teams.
• Possibly produce CAD/Revit documents and review CAD/Revit work.
• Read and interpret procedures and regulations.
• Manage projects including scope, schedule, budget and client interaction.
• Participate in business development activities and client outreach.
