Bala Consulting Engineers seeks a licensed Fire Protection Engineer to lead the FP Department and support enterprise-wide functions from Wayne, PA. You will oversee design, calculations, and coordination with other disciplines while guiding staff and schedules.

Minimum 7+ years in fire protection engineering, PE/FPE license, and strong knowledge of NFPA, codes, and FM Global Data Sheets are required. Join a growing team with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 7+ years professional experience in fire protection engineering/design.
• PE/FPE license required; Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of building codes, Fire codes, NFPA Standards and FM Global Data Sheets.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead FP engineer and technical expert; guide engineering staff.
• Design fire protection systems; coordinate with other disciplines and review meetings.
• Create detailed plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use.
• Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for projects.
• Check and confirm the accuracy of work and methods used by staff.
• Communicate and collaborate with other department managers across offices.
• Prepare and deliver internal and external engineering-related presentations.
• Perform department leadership activities including hiring, coaching and training.
