Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Specialist to support the Oakridge, TN site. The role involves fire protection design, analysis, field support, and program activities across fire detection, alarm, suppression, and compliance with codes and standards.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop effective fire protection solutions, support regulatory compliance, and ensure safety of critical facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in fire protection engineering or related field.
• Experience with fire protection systems, life safety evaluations, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong understanding of fire protection codes, standards, and engineering principles.
• Experience preparing technical documentation, calculations, specifications, and reports.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform fire protection engineering and related work.
• Prepare first-pass technical deliverables.
• Apply codes, standards, procedures, and client requirements.
• Identify technical issues, assumptions, inputs, conflicts, and compliance gaps.
• Support estimates, proposals, schedules, and staffing inputs.
• Coordinate with project teams, clients, and field personnel.
• Participate in field assessments, design reviews, and evaluations.
• Maintain knowledge of current fire protection technologies and industry practices.
