Orano USA is seeking a Fire Safety Engineer to support fire protection for Project IKE in Oak Ridge, TN. You will apply advanced engineering principles to design and evaluate fire protection systems, perform hazard analyses, and collaborate with regulatory and operations teams to ensure safety excellence.

The role emphasizes high‑hazard environments, including uranium enrichment facilities, and requires strong modeling skills and experience with NFPA codes and DOE/NRC expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years in fire protection engineering in industrial/nuclear environments.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform fire and explosion hazard assessments for nuclear/industrial systems.
• Design fire protection systems: suppression, detection, alarms, smoke control.
• Interpret NFPA, IBC/IFC, regulatory requirements for licensing and compliance.
• Conduct fire modeling using FDS, PyroSim, and egress analysis tools.
• Inspect and audit fire protection equipment and systems; document findings.
